The Challenge

Initially, Kit & Kin entrusted us with migrating their eCommerce store from WooCommerce to Shopify Plus and implemented a custom subscription solution to suit their unique business model. Later, the client opted for our ongoing support services. Owing to that, we’ve been elevating their website’s functionality and driving their brand’s growth for six years.

The Solution

As part of ongoing support, we continuously expanded the website’s capabilities. Our team integrated Kit & Kin with Klaviyo for custom sales analytics and profile segmentation and redesigned the store’s theme using the latest styles and leveraging the Online Store 2.0 benefits. We also set up bespoke stores for Kit & Kin in other countries, each with unique features. Our team have been providing ongoing support and maintenance that have contributed to Kit & Kin's process of achieving their business objectives and expanding their online presence.

Shopify Development We Delivered

Our Shopify theme and app developers have put much effort into the Kit & Kin site development. These are some of the tasks we completed:

Subscription API Migration

When the Subscription API appeared, our team migrated Kit & Kin to this system, optimizing it with custom features that suited the client’s unique business processes. As a result, we could continuously improve the subscription options, implementing extra functionalities like adding one-time products to the next renewal.

Klaviyo Integration

Our team has integrated Kit & Kin with Klaviyo, enabling them to leverage additional data for advanced profile segmentation, comprehensive analytics, and personalized flows. Thus, we helped Kit & Kin optimize their customer engagement efforts.

Customer Portal Development

GenovaWebArt has built a comprehensive customer portal for Kit & Kin. It provides features like updating subscription products, managing renewal delivery dates and frequency, pausing products, and adding one-time products to the next renewal order. We also enabled creating unscheduled renewals, skipping the next renewal, and applying discount codes to the next renewal orders.

Comprehensive Subscription App’s Admin Panel Development

We have also delivered an admin panel for the subscription app, providing enhanced flexibility and management over subscriptions. With this panel, the team can adjust settings and track the history of each subscription, including activities made by customers and staff members. It also allows the team to handle subscriptions from the back end, completing more actions than the range of activities available for the customers from the customer portal.

Complex Out-of-Stock Functionality Implementation

GenovaWebArt has enabled complex out-of-stock logic tailored to different subscription product types. Renewals aren’t created if specific products are out of stock, and the renewal dates of these subscriptions adjust to the back-in-stock expected date. As for other product types, renewals are generated without including out-of-stock items, and the products that become available again are automatically added to the subscription product range.

Sophisticated Bundling Implementation

The GenovaWebArt team has set up multi-buy options and sophisticated product bundles that comprise different variations of products and bundles. As a result, customers can assemble their perfect bundle by choosing between pre-selected and customer-selected products. We used metaobjects and metafields to implement this feature.

Website Speed Boost

We have also increased Kit & Kin’s website speed, and now it significantly outperforms similar stores. This improvement is confirmed by Google PageSpeed Insights and Google Lighthouse tests.
